Tommi Sooni Signature Bottle

To celebrate the success of Tarantella, Tommi Sooni commissioned master glass artist Nick Mount to create a signature perfume bottle. This superb bottle is as much a work of sculptural art as it is a skillfully crafted amphora, luminious and beautiful to look at.

“A project like this, designing for a passionate and discerning client presented unique challenges. I chose to keep the formal traditions and customs of the materials in mind, of perfume presentation as well as glass making.

“The vessel form, the ewer shape is generous and feminine. The rich colours and fine parallel stripes refer to the traditions of Italian glass as much as to the hand made Japanese papers in the Tarantella packaging.

“I wanted to ‘hero’ the vessel. To place it above its surroundings. The asymmetrically cut, gold ruby coloured gem pedestal adds a richness to the composition while delicately presenting the bottle and its contents.”
